ASTON, Pa. - After a 1-2 final in the opener, the HFU Baseball Team broke out with a 16-0 game two to salvage a split with Post on Saturday afternoon at Maplezone Sports Institute.
Game Two
The Tigers led throughout after plating two in the first, before scoring three-plus runs in each of its final three at-bats.
The run support was more than enough for
Bryan Burtoft (Leesburg, Fla./First Academy Leesburg (Lake Sumter State College)), who earned his first win at Holy Family after surrendering just four hits over seven scoreless innings.
Andres Rivera (Silver Spring, Md./Woodrow Wilson (Montgomery College)) fell a double shy of the cycle as he went a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, double, five RBI, three runs and two base on balls.
Jalen David (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond) also had three hits, finishing 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
Logan Mote (Branchburg, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's School (Lackawanna College)) was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, two RBI and a sacrifice, while
Jephson Hadson-Taylor (Cheltenham, Pa./La Salle College (University of Maine)) went 2-for-4 with a triple, double, two RBI and a run.
Perry Chetney (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville (Millersville University)) made it five Tigers with multiple hits, while
Brayden King (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek (Chattanooga State CC)) and
Griffin Richardson (Warminster, Pa./Greenville (Bucks County CC)) both scored multiple runs and walked multiple times.
Game One
All three runs were scored in the seventh, the first of which was unearned, as Holy Family stranded the tying run on second and could not take advantage of two singles in the eighth.
The Tigers outhit the Eagles 7-4 but left five in scoring position.
Starter
Jorden Sesar (Morrisville, Pa./Morrisville (Manhattan University)) was dominant as he struck out 10 and allowed just two hits over six frames.
Hayden Hicks (Follansbee, W.V./Steubenville) struck out six in 2.2 perfect relief innings.
Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham (Mercer County CC)) reached three times as he went 2-for-3 with a base on balls, while King finished 2-for-4 with HFU's lone RBI.
