PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University Women's Basketball Team celebrated senior day by defeating second place Felican, 60-45, on Saturday afternoon side of the Campus Center.
Prior to the game, the Tigers honored the senior class of
Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South),
Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area),
Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) and
Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)).
Individual Highlights
- Hinkle led all players with 19 points and 19 rebounds, the latter of which was one shy of a career-best, for her 16th double-double of the season
- Searfoss tied a game-high with six assists
- Carter was also in double-figures with 14 points, while Dougherty was third on HFU with eight points
- Ella Brown (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) topped the Tigers with two steals and a game-high two blocks

How it Happened
- Holy Family broke the only tie, at 2-2, with seven straight points that ended with two free throws by Carter 3:14 into the action
- Felician got as close as one with the next six points, but Lauren Palangio (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) ended the first quarter with a layup and foul shot, before Carter made a 3-pointer 30 seconds into the second
- The Golden Falcons made it a one possession game twice in the second, including at 14-17 with 6:06 left in the half, only to go scoreless for the remainder of the period
- The Tigers tallied the final 10 points, seven of which were by Hinkle, as a Brown layup established a 29-14 cushion entering the locker room
- Felician then did not score the first 3:54 of the third, an even nine minutes of game time, as a Hinkle jumper gave HFU a game-high 37-20 advantage
- The Golden Falcons made a push to within seven twice, including at 34-41 39 seconds into the fourth, but they could never make it a two-possession game
