NEW CASTLE, Del. – The HFU Women's Basketball Team clinched its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season title since 2012-13 with a 73-58 win at Wilmington on Tuesday evening.
The result improved the Tigers to 17-0 in the league with three games remaining.
Individual Highlights
- Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) led all players with 15 rebounds and five assists, the latter of which tied a career-high
- Kara Meredith (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) also had a career-best five assists, to go along with 12 points and a game-high two blocks
- Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)) led four Tigers in double-figures with 19 points, while pulling down a season-best eight boards
- Amy Ngo (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) set a new career-best with nine rebounds, while Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) had 10 points and a team-high two steals
- Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) had 10 points too, while Lola Ibarrondo (Bristol, Pa./Neshaminy) added nine

- HFU made a season-best 18 free throws, on 20 attempts, and sunk triple the amount of 3-pointers, 9-3, while outrebounding WilmU 51-33
How it Happened
- Holy Family trailed once, for 12 seconds in the second quarter, before responding with 16 unanswered
- Searfoss scored seven in the stretch, including capping it - following four consecutive points from Dougherty - with a layup for a 40-25 advantage 2:13 ahead of the break
- The Tigers held Wilmington scoreless for five and a half minutes during the run, which established a double-digit lead until the final two minutes
