PHILADELPHIA – The HFU Men's Basketball Team held a game-high 10-point lead with eight and a half minutes left, but Caldwell would overcome the Tigers down the stretch in a 65-69 final inside of the Campus Center on Saturday afternoon.
Holy Family also led by nine, 49-58, on a
Najee Coursey (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Cedar Creek (Sacred Heart University)) layup with 6:26 remaining, only to have the Cougars respond with 14 of the next 15 points for a 59-63 edge entering the final minute.
Elijah Hernandez (Bronx, N.Y./Our Savior Lutheran (Westchester CC)) made a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to one, but after a Caldwell basket and Tigers free throw, the Cougars would seal the victory by making 4-of-4 foul shots down in the final 12 seconds.
