Women’s Basketball Improves to 10-0 in CACC Play with 74-52 Win Over Dominican

PHILADELPHIA – The HFU Women's Basketball Team improved to 10-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 74-52 victory over Dominican on Saturday afternoon inside of the Campus Center. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Ella Brown (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) tied a game-high with 14 points on 5-of-8 field goals, 2-of-3 3-pointres and 2-of-2 free throws
  • Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) led all players with 11 rebounds and added 11 points for her 10th double-double of the season
  • Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) (six assists), Amy Ngo (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) (four steals) and Lauren Palangio (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) (three blocks) all posted game-highs
  • Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) was also in double-figures with 10 points

  • Holy Family controlled the scoring in the paint, 40-26, and outscored DC 19-9 in points off turnovers
 
How it Happened
  • HFU scored the first five points and led throughout, as Brown made two 3-pointers in a 10-2 run to open the contest
  • Leading 19-9 following 10 minutes of play, the Tigers used nine unanswered midway through the second to establish a double-digit cushion for good, 25-15, on a Searfoss layup with 6:38 left in the half
  • A Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)) triple in the final seconds doubled up HFU's advantage, 44-22, heading into the locker room
