PHILADELPHIA – After Wilmington tied the score for the first and only time all game with 4:25 to go, the HFU Men's Basketball Team would close on a 12-5 run over the final four minutes to defeat the Wildcats 67-60 on Wednesday night inside of the Campus Center.
Knotted at 55, two
Di'Andre Howell-South (Paterson, N.J./Immaculate Conception (Wagner College)) free throws with an even four minutes on the clock put the Tigers ahead for good.
Following a WilmU foul shot,
Kobe Jerome (New Rochelle, N.Y./Blue Ridge School (University of Delaware)) made two free throws and Howell-South connected on a floater for a 61-56 edge with 2:20 remaining.
The Wildcats came back with the next three points, but
Elijah Hernandez (Bronx, N.Y./Our Savior Lutheran (Westchester CC)) sank a foul shot before
Karrington Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood (Central Connecticut State University)) put-back dunk with 45 seconds left established a multiple-possession advantage for good.

- Matt Gardler (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) led Holy Family with 17 points, five assists and a game-high three steals
- Raphael Dupouy (Bordeaux, France/Central Pointe Christian Academy (Yavapai College)) posted game-highs of eight rebounds and a season-best four blocks
- Hernandez and Najee Coursey (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Cedar Creek (Sacred Heart University)) were also in double-figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively
- Howell-South finished with nine points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals

- Four different Tigers made a 3-pointer in an opening 20-6 run, ending with Jerome's triple just 7:19 into the action
- The first half lead reached as large as 17 twice, including at 37-20 on a Hernandez trifecta 3:13 ahead of the break
- Wilmington would counter with the final seven points of the period, cutting the deficit to seven entering the locker room
- The Wildcats then began the second half scoring, only to have HFU pour in seven in a row as Gardler trifecta established yet another 17-point cushion, 46-29, with 16:35 to play
- Wilmington began its push with 13 of the next 15 points, before eventually tying the score for the first and only time all night with 4:25 remaining
