BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Holy Family University Men's Basketball Team forced a miss at the buzzer to defeat defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) champion Bridgeport, 76-74, on Saturday afternoon.
Individual Highlights
- Matt Gardler (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) led all players with six assists and added 15 points
- Elijah Hernandez's (Bronx, N.Y./Our Savior Lutheran (Westchester CC)) 18 points and Raphael Dupouy's (Bordeaux, France/Central Pointe Christian Academy (Yavapai College)) 10 rebounds were both one shy of game-highs
- Dupouy also tied a game-high with two blocks
- Kobe Jerome (New Rochelle, N.Y./Blue Ridge School (University of Delaware)) was also in double-figures with a season-best 12 points, while Omarion Jett (Montclair, N.J./Saint Benedict's Prep (American International College)) added 11

- After the first 25 minutes were played withing five points, HFU used 10 straight points to establish a game-high 11-points advantage, 59-48, on a Dupouy layup with 12:41 to go
- The Tigers also led by double-digits, 69-59, following Dupouy's layup with 8:32 left
- UB cut the deficit to a single point, 73-72, entering the final minute, but Jett would make 3-of-4 free throws in the final 17 seconds before the Purple Knights missed the potential tying jumper
