The HFU men's track & field program claimed two of the four major awards handed out by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), as
Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) was named the CACC Field Athlete of the Year and
Alexson Songor (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) was voted the CACC Track Rookie of the Year.
Pierre ends his career having received the CACC Field Athlete of the Year award in all four his seasons after leading both the league and the East Region with a clearance of 2.15m in the high jump. He was also second in the conference - and third in the region - in the triple jump (14.96m), as well as sixth in the long jump (6.94m).
The senior earned a total of 23 points at the CACC Championships, as he won the high jump with a championship record and placed second and fourth, respectively, in the triple jump and long jump.
Songor posted the fastest 800m time in both the league and the East Region this season, 1:52.27, and he was also the 800m champion at the CACC Championships.
Additionally, the freshman was part of the 4x400m relay quartet that claimed silver at the CACC Championships, and he also qualified for the final in the 200m as he played a part in 19 points.
