14 members of HFU track & field have earned All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their performances this outdoor season.
The top five individuals in each event from each region, as well as each of the members of a top three-three-ranked relay team, receive All-Region accolades.
Ocelia Jones (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica/Maggotty) led the way three All-Region performances, highlighted by ranking second in 400m hurdles. She was also recognized in the 100m hurdles and the 4x100m relay, along with
Danalee Brock (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica/STETHS (University of Mary)),
Jade Jones (Jamaica/Hydel) and
Lesedi Anyika ().
Holy Family had three of the region's top five performers in the 400m hurdles, as Jones was joined by both Brock and
Brianna Coates (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower).
Rounding out the six Tigers honored on the women's side was
Sydonia Turner (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast), who was third in the high jump.
On the men's side,
Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) led the way with two All-Region performances, highlighted by posting the top clearance of 2.15m in the high jump. He was also third in the triple jump.
Alexson Songor (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) led the region too, posting a time of 1:52.27 in the 800m.
Desi Stroud (Mays Landing, N.J./ACIT) was second in the region in the long jump, while
Micah Walker (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) was third in the hammer.
Rounding out the honorees were
Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) (100m),
Isaiah Davenport (Pleasantville, N.J./Pleasantville) (high jump),
Ernest Robertson (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity) (triple jump) and
Odane Smith (Saint Catherine, Jamaica/Edwin Allen) (long jump).
Notably, O. Jones, Turner, Pierre, Bowen, Davenport, Stroud and Smith all earned All-Region honors for the indoor season as well.
