The HFU track & field program received three weekly awards, handed out by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Tuesday, for performances at Widener's Paul Donahue Invitational this past weekend.
Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) – CACC Field Athlete of the Week
Pierre won two golds with NCAA provisionals, topping respective fields of 18 and 19 in the high jump (2.13m) and triple jump (14.96m). Those respective marks are first and second in the league
Sydonia Turner (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) – CACC Field Athlete of the Week
Turner captured silver in the high jump, clearing 1.60m, and also matched her league-leading mark of 5.25m in the long jump to place seventh out of 49 entries.Â
Alexson Songor (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) – CACC Track Rookie of the Week
Songor broke a seven-year-old school record and moved into first in the CACC in the 800m, crossing in 1:52.27 to finish fifth in a field of 107.Â
