WATERBURY, Conn. – The Holy Family University softball team has now won 10 of its last 11 games after sweeping Post, 8-3 and 14-1, on Sunday afternoon.
Individual Highlights
- Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) homered in game two to become the program's all-time leader with 29 for her career, as part of a 3-for-5 performance that featured four RBI
- The senior also becomes the second player in program history to reach 100 career RBI
- Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) recorded her first career four-hit game in the nightcap, capping a doubleheader performance in which she was 6-for-8 with five runs, a double, a walk and an RBI
- Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) also had multiple hits in both games, going 4-for-7 with a double, run and RBI
- Game two starter Paige Tidaback (Carteret, N.J./St. Thomas Aquinas) threw a complete game to improve to 4-3
- Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) is now to 8-4 after throwing 2.2 hitless innings of relief in game one
- Gina Olivieri (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Charter School) had her first career three-hit and three-RBI game in the opener as she finished a perfect 3-for-3, while Jaden Kelly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) recorded her second career three-hit game in the nightcap
- Game One starter Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River) struck out five to move into fifth in program history with 218 for her career
How it Happened
Game One
- Holy Family broke a 3-3 tie with a five-run sixth that featured six straight hits, beginning with Hagy's one-out double
- Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) then drove in the game-winning run on a double, before three consecutive singles by Kylee Jones (Hulmeville, Pa./Neshaminy (Rider)), Olivieri and Hobel
- Madison Grubb (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway) capped the frame with a two-RBI double
Game Two
- The Tigers led throughout in the nightcap following a three-run first that began with a Hobel single
- Ciasullo then hit her historic home run with two outs, before a Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River) single and stolen base and Hagy single made it 3-0
