How it Happened
Davis & Elkins
- Holy Family did not trail until the walk-off after plating two runs in each of its first two-at bats
- After a Madison Grubb (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway) single, walks by Letizia and Ciasullo loaded the bases for an Clayborne fielder's choice and Kylee Jones (Hulmeville, Pa./Neshaminy (Rider)) base on balls to make it 2-0 in the first
- The Tigers then erased two unearned D&E runs with a two-run second that featured singles by Hobel and Letizia
- The Senators plated another unearned run in the bottom-half though, but after a scoreless third, three straight two-out singles by Letizia, Ciasullo and Claborne re-established a two-run lead in the fourth
- Davis & Elkins pulled one back in the fifth, after HFU stranded two in the top-half
- The Tigers also singled twice in the seventh, but the Senators escaped unscathed and used four straight two-out singles to walk it off
Roosevelt
- Hobel's leadoff triple and Letizia's sacrifice fly again put the Tigers ahead in the first, but Roosevelt would counter with an unearned score
- Those were the only runs until the sixth, as Tidaback retired 11-of-12 at one point
- Holy Family took advantage of back-to-back errors to plate two unearned runs without a hit, but the Lakers again had an answer in the form of four singles
- The Tigers escaped a bases-loaded jam to keep it tied, but after a Kathryn McHale (Frankford, Del./Indian River) walk in the top-half, a lead-off hit-by-pitch eventually led to the game-winning run coming home on an error
