For Second Straight Day, One Inning the Difference in Baseball’s Game Two Loss at CACC Leader Goldey-Beacom

HOCKESSIN, Del. – For the second straight day, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) leader Goldey-Becom scored all of its game two runs in one inning in a 0-3 win over the HFU baseball team on Sunday. 
 
The Lightning won the opener 6-12.  
 
Individual Highlights
  • Nick Lombardo (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin (Bucks County CC)) recorded his first career four-hit game at HFU in the game one, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and a run 
  • Jephson Hadson-Taylor (Cheltenham, Pa./La Salle College (University of Maine)) also reached four times, going 2-for-2 with two walks and three runs 
  • Brian Comer (Charlotte, N.C./Independence (Bucks County CC)) reached all three times in the nightcap as he went 1-for-1 with two hit-by-pitches
 
How it Happened
Game One
  • HFU cut a 1-5 deficit to 3-5 when Hadson-Taylor manufactured a run in the fourth and Luke Shahin (Ajax, Ontario/Archbishop Denis O'Connor(Augusta University)) singled home one in the fifth, but GBC came right back with a three-run bottom-half
Game Two
  • The Tigers had runners reach in each their first three at-bats, before the Lightning came through with back-to-back two-out hits in the third
  • Holy Family then had the tying run reach in the sixth, which ended with a double  play
 
Up Next
The Tigers travel travels to Caldwell for a doubleheader on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
