One Inning the Difference in Baseball’s Game Two Loss to CACC South Leader Goldey-Beacom

PHILADELPHIA – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division leader Goldey-Beacom did all its damage in one inning in a 1-4 game two win over the HFU baseball team on Saturday at FDR Park. 
 
The Lightning took the opener 0-13.
 
Individual Highlights
  • Stefan Leo (Golden, Colo./Golden Senior (Porterville CC)) went 2-for-3 in game one and homered in the nightcap, while Christian Mote (Branchburg, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's School (Iona University)) was 2-for-3 in the game two
  • Game two starter Christian Culver (Croydon, Pa./Harry S. Truman (Bucks County CC)) threw a complete game, allowing just the four runs
 
How it Happened
Game Two
  • Leo led off the second with his home run
  • Following a one-two-three top of the third, HFU had the first two runners reach in the bottom-half as Mannis led off with a single to no avail
  • The four runs came after the inning began with back-to-back outs
  • The Tigers brought the tying run to the plate in both the fourth and seventh but could not cut into the deficit.

The two teams complete their four-game series tomorrow with a 12 p.m. first pitch in Hockessin, Del.
