Men’s Lacrosse Closes Strong at Defending CACC Tournament Champion Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA – The HFU men's lacrosse team outscored defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament champion Chestnut Hill 9-5 in the second half of a 10-18 loss to the Griffins on Saturday. 
 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Jayden Williams (Mays Landing, N.J./Atlantic County Institute of Technology) led all players with 17 faceoff wins and eight ground balls, both of which were season-bests
  • Jhay Dameus (Willingboro, N.J./Holy Cross Preparatory Academy) recorded his first hat trick of the season and the second of his career to lead HFU with three points
  • Noah Simpson (Oshawa, Ontario/Henry Street) and Jake Feeney (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) also had three points, on two goals and an assist, with Simpson adding a team-high two caused turnovers
  • Bradley Smith (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) and Jackson Brown (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May) were both second on the Tigers with four ground balls apiece
  • James Demakopoulos (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) made 11 saves
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Led by Williams, HFU won 20-of-31 faceoffs, and the Tigers also converted a better percentage of clears, 16-of-20, than the Griffins
