How it Happened
Game One
  • Williams stranded the bases loaded in the second, and HFU took the lead for good in the bottom-half after Christian Mote (Branchburg, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's School (Iona University)) manufactured a run with a leadoff walk and stolen base
  • The Tigers added runs in the third and fifth and then broke it open with a four-run sixth
    • After the first out was recorded, Luke Shahin (Ajax, Ontario/Archbishop Denis O'Connor(Augusta University)) and Dalton Turner (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy (Bucks County CC)) both singled and came home on David's triple
    • A pitching change could not stop the momentum as a Comer singled made it 5-0, before a Jephson Hadson-Taylor (Cheltenham, Pa./La Salle College (University of Maine)) single and passed ball completed the frame
  • Georgian Court tallied four unearned runs in the fifth, but the Lions could never get the tying run to the plate

Game Two
  • Holy Family momentarily trailed for the only time all day as GCU plated one in the second, but the Tigers immediately struck back with a two-run bottom-half
    • Leo led off with a double, Kaden Mannis (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown (Morton College)) was hit by a pitch and a Lombardo bunt single brought home the first run, before a Comer single put HFU on top for good
  • Holy Family added two more in the fourth on a Lombardo double, two walks and two hit-by-pitches
  • The Tigers then added six more in the fifth, highlighted by Lombardo's three-run homer
