Softball Outscores Chestnut Hill 20-2 in Doubleheader Sweep

PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University softball team outscored Chestnut Hill 20-2 over the course of the doubleheader, sweeping the Griffins with 13-1 and 7-1 victories on Tuesday. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Alexis Letizia (Toms River, N.J./Donovan Catholic) reached base three times and scored twice in both games, finishing the doubleheader 5-for-7 with a four RBI, four runs, a double and a base on balls
  • Emma Clayborne (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) recorded her third career four-hit game in the opener, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI
  • Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) were both 3-for-5, with Hagy doubling and driving in two
  • Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) scored three runs and drove in two more as she went 2-for-4
  • Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) earned a second consecutive complete game win, surrendering one earned over six innings to improve to 5-3
  • In the nightcap, Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River) was a perfect 3-for-3 with a career-high four RBI
  • Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River) picked up her third complete game win, allowing just one earned on five hits as she struck out four against zero walks

  • After a scoreless first, HFU plated a run in each of its final five at-bats of the run-rule opener
Game Two
  • The Tigers then scored all seven of their runs in the second through fourth frames en route to the sweep
