Men’s Track and Field Wins Seven Golds at Season-Opening Stockton Invite

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Holy Family University men's track & field team opened its season winning seven golds at the Stockton Invite on Saturday.

Micah Walker (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) won the hammer throw with a school record, topping a field of 18 with a distance of 53.70m
Holy Family placed first and second in three events
- Odane Smith (Saint Catherine, Jamaica/Edwin Allen) and Desi Stroud (Mays Landing, N.J./ACIT) landed at respective distances of 7.15m and a collegiate PR 7.13m in the long jump
- Alexson Songor (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) and La'Marc Rex (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) crossed one-two, in 50.44 and 50.95, in the 400m
- Songor and Rex were part of the 4x400m relay team, along with Brandon St. Martin (Pleasantville, N.J./Pleasantville) and Raqeeb Somoye (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman), that won in 3:22.23
  - Finishing behind them in 3:24.4 were the quartet of Romar Scott (Westmoreland, Jamaica/Petersfield (Essex CC)), Kimani Smith (Smithville, Jamaica/Edwin Allen), Jonathan Hackshaw (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman (Monroe College)) and Thelonius Lucien (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Success Academy High School of the Liberal Arts)
The Tigers were also first and third in the high jump, with Isaiah Davenport (Pleasantville, N.J./Pleasantville) clearing an outdoor collegiate PR 2.01m and Skyler Salay (Burlington Township, N.J./Burlington Township) clearing 1.96m
HFU won all three jumping events, as Ernest Robertson (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity) landed at 13.90m in the triple
J'kwann Hamilton (Smithville, Jamaica/Edwin Allen (New Mexico Highlands University)) won the 400m hurdles, topping the field of 16 in 55.56
Somoye won silver in the 110m hurdles, crossing in a 15.31
Lucien broke a five-year-old outdoor school record in the 3000m, finishing in 9:38.18
