Marc Garcia (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area Senior (Keystone College)) sacrificed him to second to set the stage for McKenzie.
Individual Highlights
- Rivera and Jalen David (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond) had had multiple hits in both games
- Rivera finished the doubleheader 5-for-7 with a hit-by-pitch, two triples, two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases, while David was 4-for-7 with a double, two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases
- Murphy improved to 3-2 as struck out six and walked none over his seven frames
- Garcia had his first four-hit game for HFU in the opener, going 4-for-5 with a triple, three runs and two RBI
- Christian Mote (Branchburg, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's School (Iona University)) had a three-hit game for the second day, finishing 3-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch, double, two runs and an RBI
- Stefan Leo (Golden, Colo./Golden Senior (Porterville CC)) scored four times and homered, while McKenzie drove in three runs and doubled
- Hadson-Taylor had two hits and two RBI
- Jorden Sesar (Morrisville, Pa./Morrisville (Manhattan University)) picked up the win, surrendering three earned over 4.1 innings
How it Happened
Game One
- Holy Family answered D'Youville's two-run first with a three-run bottom-half and led the rest of the way after plating multiple runs in each of its first three at-bats
Game Two
- The Saints went on top in the second, but a Leo walk and Mote hit-by-pitch led to a two-run bottom-half on an Emidio Bucci (Gambrills, Md./Loyola Blakefield (York College)) two-run single
- D'Youville came right back with a two-run third, before making it 2-4 in the sixth
