Men’s Track & Field Trio Competes at NCAA Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Three members of the HFU men's track & field program – Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College), Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) and Odane Smith (Saint Catherine, Jamaica/Edwin Allen) – competed at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend. 
 
On Friday, Pierre earned his fourth career All-America honor in the high jump, including his third straight in the indoor season and his third career first team nod.  
 
The senior cleared his first attempts at 2.01m and 2.06m and then his second attempts at 2.11m and 2.14m, the latter of which sealed his First Team All-America status. 
 
Then on Saturday, Pierre earned his first career All-America honor in the triple jump after placing ninth with a mark of 15.07m

Bowen also received Second Team All-America status with a ninth place finish, marking at 7.22m in the long jump.  
 
Smith placed 14th in the triple jump with a mark of 14.65m.
