Men’s Lacrosse Picks Up First CACC Win in Program History, Defeating Caldwell in League Opener

PHILADELPHIA – The HFU men's lacrosse team won a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game for the first time in program history, outscoring Caldwell 8-0 in the first quarter en route to an 18-6 victory over the Cougars in the two teams' league opener at Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Noah Simpson's (Oshawa, Ontario/Henry Street) eight assists were the most in Division II this season, while Jake Feeney's (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) 11 points on six goals and five assists were the second most
  • Bradley Smith (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) and Jackson Brown (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May) tied for a game-high with three caused turnovers, both season-bests, with Smith adding a team-high six ground balls
  • Jayden Williams (Mays Landing, N.J./Atlantic County Institute of Technology) led HFU with 10 faceoff wins and was second with five ground balls
  • Nick Gargan (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) tied a season-best with five goals, while Xander Kelly (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) also netted a hat trick
  • James Demakopoulos (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) made six saves on seven attempts to earn the win in net, while Jonah Corkhill (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) stopped all five attempts he faced in the fourth quarter
