BENSALEM, Pa. – After suffering an 8-12 comeback defeat in game one, the HFU softball team salvaged a split with a 2-0 shutout of CSI in the nightcap at Bensalem High School on Wednesday.
Still without a score entering the bottom of the sixth,
Erin Stilton (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Liberty) led off with a single. After consecutive outs,
Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) and
Jaden Kelly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) came through with back-to-back RBI singles for game's only runs.
Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) then came out for the seventh and with the help of a double play, retired the side in order for her first career shutout.
Individual Highlights
- Moore allowed just three hits over the seven innings as she faced the minimum in three of her final four frames
- Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) recorded her fourth career three-hit game in the opener, while Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) doubled twice, leading to four RBI
- Hobel, Madison Grubb (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway) and Gina Olivieri (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Charter School) all scored twice
- Alexis Letizia (Toms River, N.J./Donovan Catholic) went 2-for-3 in game two

Game Two
- Holy Family left two on base in there of its first five at-bats, while Moore stranded the bases loaded in the third
Game One
- The Tigers were up 5-0 entering the sixth, only for CSI to plate six
- HFU came right back with a three-run bottom-half, taking advantage of an error to regain the lead on back-to-back two-out RBI base hits by Grubb (single) and Ciasullo (double), after Olivieri was hit by a pitch
- The Dolphins had yet another comeback in them though, as they again plated six in the seventh
