HFU men's lacrosse has received three of the four weekly awards handed out by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), it was announced on Monday.
James Demakopoulos (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) repeated as Goalkeeper of the Week, winning the honor for a third time this season, while fellow freshmen
Bradley Smith (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) and
Jake Feeney (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) were named the Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Holy Family has now notably received the CACC Rookie of the Week award in each of the first four weeks of the season.
James Demakopoulos (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) – CACC Goalkeeper of the Week
Demakopoulos went 2-0 with a 67.5 save percentage and 8.67 goals against average. After setting a new season-high with 21 saves in Tuesday's victory over Tiffin, he stopped six of the eight shots he faced in Sunday's win over UDC.
Bradley Smith (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) – CACC Defensive Player of the Week
Smith had two caused turnovers in both games and added 11 ground balls and six faceoff wins. After tying for a season-best with seven ground balls on Tuesday, the freshman was second on HFU with three faceoff wins on Sunday.
Jake Feeney (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) – CACC Rookie of the Week
Feeney had 11 points on five goals and six assists and added four ground balls and two caused turnovers. After leading all players with a season-high seven points on four assists and three goals on Tuesday, he had four points on two goals and two assists on Sunday.
