BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Holy Family University men's basketball team traveled to Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Purple Knights 78-99.
Individual Highlights
- Vernon Johnson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) led all players with a career-high 21 points on 7-of-11 field goals and 4-of-7 3-pointers, while adding a team-high five assists, which was a season-best
- Najee Coursey (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Cedar Creek) and Josiah King (Irvington, N.J./Linden) were also in double-figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively, with King adding team-highs of a season-best seven rebounds and two steals
- Tyler Meinel (Warrington, Pa./CB South) notably had season-highs of seven points and five boards

- Bridgeport scored the first five point and 12 of the first 14 to establish a 2-12 edge less than three minutes in
- HFU got as close as three with the next seven points, five of which were by Johnson as his two free throws cut the deficit to 9-12
- The Purple Knights came back with back-to-back 3-pointers that would make it a two-possession advantage for good
