Men’s Lacrosse Defeats Rosemont 22-4

PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University men's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals in a 22-2 victory over Rosemont at Tiger Field on Wednesday evening. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Xander Kelly (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) and Noah Simpson (Oshawa, Ontario/Henry Street) posted respective game-highs of eight goals and five assists
  • Nick Gargan (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) also had five points as he scored five times
  • Marquan Gayle (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) led all players with 12 faceoff wins and five ground balls, while Bradley Smith (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) posted a game-high with three caused turnovers
  • Jayden Williams (Mays Landing, N.J./Atlantic County Institute of Technology) went a perfect 8-for-8 in faceoffs and added two points on a goal and assist
  • James Demakopoulos (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) saved six of the seven shots he faced to earn the win in net 
  • Maxx Covely (Somerdale, N.J./Highland) had a career-best three assists, was second on HFU with four ground balls, and also scored
  • Andrew Kayes (Margate City, N.J./Holy Spirit) scored twice and added an assist, while Gavin Reid (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) and Ryan Merryfield (Somers Point, N.J./Mainland Regional) both netted the first two goals of their collegiate careers
    • Also scoring the first goal of his career was JD Marino (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township)
  • James Bienia (East Moriches, N.Y./Westhampton Beach) had three assists too, while Jacob Turk (Yardley, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) and Jimmy Donnelly (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) both caused multiple turnovers
  • Jacob Smith (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham Monson Academy (AIC)) and Jonah Corkhill (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) both made their HFU debuts in net, making three saves and one save, respectively
  • Seamus Hart (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) notably recorded his first collegiate point on an assist
