Fast Start Lifts No. 20 Women’s Basketball Past Georgian Court in Home Finale

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 20 HFU women's basketball team closed out its regular season home schedule with a 67-55 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday night inside of the Campus Center.

Holy Family trailed for a 1:39 early but Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) scored five straight points to give the Tigers the lead for good, 7-5, on a layup 3:11 into the action.

That began 13 unanswered that featured back-to-back 3-pointers by Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) and Amy Ngo (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) and ended with a Lola Ibarrondo (Bristol, Pa./Neshaminy) jumper putting HFU up 15-5 with 2:46 left in the first quarter.

The Lions tallied the next four points, but an Ibarrondo pullup 52 seconds into the second made it a nine-plus-point cushion for good.
