Volleyball Hands Post First CACC Loss

PHILADELPHIA – The HFU Volleyball Team overcame a 1-2 deficit to hand Post its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss (25-20, 17-25, 23-25, 25-16, 16-15) on Sunday afternoon.

After scoring the first five points – the final three of which were Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) kills – and never trailing in the fourth, the Tigers also tallied the first three points of the fifth.

The Eagles came back to regain the lead just once, at 6-7, before back-to-bac kills by Kalia Espenlaub (New Market, Md./Saint John's Catholic Prep (Millersville)) and Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle (Saint Anselm)) sparked a 5-1 surge that was capped by a Kinzer kill for an 11-8 advantage.

Post was able to stave off two match points to tie it up at 14, but HFU would respond with Mackenzie Layton (Clarksboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) and Kinzer kills to close out the match.
