STATEN ISLAND – The No. 22 Holy Family University Women's Basketball Team completed a 2-0 opening weekend with a 73-45 victory over Franklin Pierce at College of Staten Island on Sunday afternoon. 
 
Individual Highlights

• Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)) led all players with 12 points, four assists, two steals and a block
• Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) also had four assists, to go along with 11 points 
• Camryn Gregory (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock South) poured in 11 points as well, a new career-high, on 3-of-4 3-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws
• Freshman Ella Brown (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) fell one point and one rebound, a game-high, shy of her first collegiate double-double
• Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) had eight points and eight boards, while Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) finished with eight points and three assists

• Holy Family dominated the glass, 48-27, leading to an 18-7 edge in second chance points

 
How it Happened

• A Dougherty layup to make the score 6-4 2:11 into the action was the final lead change, while a Lola Ibarrondo (Bristol, Pa./Neshaminy) free throw with 1:55 left in the opening quarter established a double-digit advantage for good, 18-8
• That latter was part of a 12-2 stretch to end the first, which featured five points from Brown on a 3-pointer and two free throws for a 20-8  score-line entering the second
