PHILADELPHIA – It took
Ned Lewis (London, England/Hayesbrook) just 9:01 to score a natural hat trick in the first 12:34 of HFU men's soccer's eventual 6-2 triumph over Caldwell at Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon.
Lewis was one of five Tigers, along with
Jackson Kiss (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood),
Bogdan Stere (Bucharest, Romania/Lycée Français Anna de Noailles),
Aristide Sanon (Paris, France/Max Linder) and
Jesus Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Artica), honored for Senior Day prior to the match.
The first and third of Lewis' goals came from well outside of the box as he caught the keeper off his line, while the second came on a point-blank header following a
Hugo Gutierrez (Valladolid, Spain/Nuestra Señora del Lourdes) cross.
He now leads Holy Family with seven goals on the season.
Gutierrez also assisted the third to move into a tie for the team with
Lucca Saad (São Paulo, Brazil/The Phelps School) with four assists.
Saad, who converted a penalty for his first goal of the year in 84th minute, also assisted Kiss for the game's final goal just 1:39 later.
Joining Gutierrez in picking up assists on the second and third goals were
Dimitri Lekishvili (Aspindza, Georgia/192 Public School) and
Kevin Castro (Bensalem, Pa./Father Judge). It was the second straight match with an assist for Lekishvili, while Castro's was the first of his collegiate career.
Corey Yorke (Orange, N.J./Orange) made gave HFU a 4-0 halftime lead with his first goal as a Tiger in the 33rd minute, as he found the back of the net from close range following a
Mamadou Nianghane (Dakar, Senegal/Abraham Lincoln) interception.
Bruno Mestres (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Mackenzie Tambore) made seven saves to improve to 2-0-1 in net.
