RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Goals 1:20 apart in the 80th and 81st minutes lifted the Holy Family University Men's Soccer Team to a 3-2 upset at No. 22 Felician on Sunday evening.
Ever Maradiaga (Edgewater Park, N.J./Life Center Academy) completed his first collegiate brace, giving
Hugo Gutierrez (Valladolid, Spain/Nuestra Señora del Lourdes) his first assist as a Tiger, to tie the match with 10:32 left before
Jackson Kiss (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) scored the game-winner shortly after.
Maradiaga and Kiss now lead the team with three and two goals, respectively, while
Lucca Saad (São Paulo, Brazil/The Phelps School) moved into to the team lead with three assists after setting up both the game-winner and Maradiaga's opener, which put HFU ahead just 9:56 in.
The Golden Falcons equalized in the 35th minute, before taking the lead just 22 seconds prior to Maradiaga's second score.
The Tigers outshot Felician 16-11 in the contest, including doubling up, 11-5, the Golden Falcons in attempts on frame.
Joey Phillips (Levittown, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) made three saves on the evening, including one final one with two minutes remaining to seal the victory.
