No. 18 Women’s Basketball Win Seventh Straight, 78-46, at Wilmington

NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Holy Family University women's basketball team won its seventh straight game, defeating Wilmington 78-46 on Wednesday night. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) led all players with 14 points, making 4-of-8 3-pointers, while Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)) added 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting
  • Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) made all six of her field goal attempts en route to 12 points, to go along with a team-high six rebounds
  • Lola Ibarrondo (Bristol, Pa./Neshaminy), Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Lauren Palangio (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) all had six boards as well, with Ibarrondo adding nine points  
  • Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) made it four Tigers in double-figures as she finished with a season-best 11 points
  • Amy Ngo (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) led all players with four assists and four steals

  • Holy Family won the turnover battle, 8-21, leading to a 26-5 edge in points off turnovers
 
How it Happened
  • HFU trailed for 31 seconds early in the first, but Riepe's 3-pointer to make the score 7-6 four and a half minutes into the action put the Tigers ahead for good
  • That began eight unanswered that helped Holy Family establish a 17-8 advantage after Ngo beat the first quarter buzzer
  • Wilmington got as close as seven points twice in the second, including at 25-17, but the Tigers closed with the final 13 points over the last 3:39 as both Ibarrondo and Camryn Gregory (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock South) contributed two baskets
