Men’s Soccer Opens Season at New Haven

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Holy Family University men's soccer team opened its 2024 campaign at New Haven on Thursday night, falling to the Chargers 0-4 after a tight first half.

The Tigers outshot UNH 8-4 in the first, including five straight attempts at one point in which Gavin Rowan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy), Tajhay Williams (Yallahs, Jamaica/Clarendon College) and Sergio Revuelta (Valladolid, Spain/IES Alejandria) were all denied in two-minute stretch midway through the period, but it was the Chargers finding the net in the 33rd.

New Haven then made it 2-0 with the first shot of the second in the 67th minute.

Bogdan Stere (Bucharest, Romania/Lycée Français Anna de Noailles), Aristide Sanon (Paris, France/Max Linder), Lucca Saad (São Paulo, Brazil/The Phelps School), Georgios Kazantzioglou (Athens, Greece/The Phelps School) and Kevin Castro (Bensalem, Pa./Father Judge) notably all made their HFU debuts on the night.
