WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Holy Family University men's soccer team opened its 2024 campaign at New Haven on Thursday night, falling to the Chargers 0-4 after a tight first half.
The Tigers outshot UNH 8-4 in the first, including five straight attempts at one point in which
Gavin Rowan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy),
Tajhay Williams (Yallahs, Jamaica/Clarendon College) and
Sergio Revuelta (Valladolid, Spain/IES Alejandria) were all denied in two-minute stretch midway through the period, but it was the Chargers finding the net in the 33rd.
New Haven then made it 2-0 with the first shot of the second in the 67th minute.
Bogdan Stere (Bucharest, Romania/Lycée Français Anna de Noailles),
Aristide Sanon (Paris, France/Max Linder),
Lucca Saad (São Paulo, Brazil/The Phelps School),
Georgios Kazantzioglou (Athens, Greece/The Phelps School) and
Kevin Castro (Bensalem, Pa./Father Judge) notably all made their HFU debuts on the night.
Holy Family hosts West Chester for its home-opener this Saturday at 12 p.m.
