PHILADELPHIA – Despite registering 19 attempts, including eight on target, the HFU women's soccer could not find the net in a 0-2 loss to Georgian Court at Tiger Field on Tuesday evening.
The Lions' goals came in the 35th and 63rd minutes.
Maddie Maguire (Sewell, N.J./Nazareth Academy (Rider)) tied a match-high with seven shots, with
Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)) adding five. Both had two attempts on frame.
The shots were an even 19-20, including 8-9 in attempts on target.
Four different Tigers fired on net in the first 45 minutes, including
Lexi Murphy (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional (Saint Francis U)) and
Bridget Dickson (Somerdale, N.J./Sterling) being denied in the final 3:04 as HFU tried to equalize.
Both Loper and
Rebecca Casper (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) had potential equalizers saved prior to GCU making it 0-2, with Loper's stopped less than a minute prior.
Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) was the sixth Tiger with an attempt on frame.
