SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Goals within 3:09 of either side of halftime proved to be the difference in the HFU women's soccer team's 0-2 loss at American International on Saturday afternoon.
Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) stopped the first three attempts she faced and after
Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) fired on net in the 37th minute, AIC opened the scoring 2:03 ahead of the break.
The Yellow Jackets then added insurance just 3:09 out of the half.
Izzy Mignon (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks East) attempted to halve the deficit in the 79th, but she was denied by the AIC goalkeeper.
Hannah LaBadie (Penndel, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Kyleigh Murphy (Bensalem, Pa./MaST Community Charter School) notably made their HFUs debut on the day, with Labadie making one save.
