PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University men's soccer team was denied a win, as Bentley equalized with 1:03 on the clock in an eventual 1-1 draw at Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers struck in the 18th minute via the counter. After having an initial attempt blocked,
Ever Maradiaga (Edgewater Park, N.J./Life Center Academy) recollected the ball and calmy found
Tajhay Williams (Yallahs, Jamaica/Clarendon College), who slotted into the bottom left corner from just outside the top of the box.
It was Maradiaga's first career point.
Luke Shank (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) was not called into action until the 32nd minute as he made three saves in the final 13:19 of the first half, including a point blank one at the back post to preserve the lead in the 36th.
He made two more crucial saves in the second, in the 61st and 87th minutes, and HFU had a chance to put the match away in-between, but
Joshua Moreland (Blackwood, N.J./Sterling) shot just wide in the 64th and
Jackson Kiss (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was denied in the 76th.
