SPARKILL, N.Y. – In a match with 18 attempts on net, neither team could beat the goalkeeper as the HFU women's soccer team earned a draw at St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday afternoon.
Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) made a career-high 10 saves, including three in the final 4:21 and one in the final minute, to preserve the shutout.
Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) had double the amount of shots as any other player with six, three of which were on net, while
Maddie Maguire (Sewell, N.J./Nazareth Academy (Rider)) and
Brooke Del Toro (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) both had three attempts, with at least one on goal.
Also shooting on net were
Bridget Dickson (Somerdale, N.J./Sterling) and
Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East).
Holy Family held the slight 17-15 edge in attempts for the match.
Playing defensively for the Tigers in the shutout were
