Baseball Hosts North Division Winner Post for Program’s First Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA – The HFU baseball team hosted Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division winner Post for a doubleheader at Father Judge High School on Sunday.

Prior to first pitch, the Tigers honored their inaugural senior class of Dylan Mercedes (Washington Heights, N.Y./St. Raymonds (Mansfield University)) and Zach Morales (Barrington, N.J./Triton Regional (PSU-Abington))

After the Eagles won game one 1-13, the two teams played to a 0-3 final in the nightcap.

Individual Highlights
  • Game two starter Casey Murphy (Merion Station, Pa./Lower Merion (Ursinus College)) threw his sixth complete game of the year, scattering eight hits with six strikeouts and no base on balls
  • Alex Camilo (Cambridge, Ontario/Monsignor Doyle (Alliance University)) went 1-for-2 with an RBI single and walk in game one

How it Happened
First Game
  • Post plated five in the first and led throughout
  • Holy Family got on the board thanks to Aidan Crean's (Philadelphia, Pa./Abraham Lincoln (Camden CC)) leadoff double and Camilo's two-out single
Second Game
  • The Eagles again scored in the first, and that would turn out to be all they needed
  • Trailing 0-2 in the third, Jon Martinez (Camden, N.J./Timber Creek Regional (Camden CC)) was hit by a pitch and stole second but was stranded

Up Next
The Tigers wrap up their inaugural season with a 12 p.m. doubleheader at College of Staten next Saturday.
