Hall’s One-Hitter Salvages Split for Softball at Felician

LITTLE FERRY, N.J. – A first inning run would be all HFU softball would need in a 1-0 game two win at Felician on Sunday, as Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River (Mount Olive)) threw a one-hitter to salvage a split for the Tigers.

Holy Family led 3-2 after two and a half innings of the opener, only for the Golden Falcons to score multiple runs in three of its last four at-bats for a 3-11 final.

Individual Highlights
  • Hall faced the minimum through three, allowing her lone hit with two outs in the fourth as she retired the side in five of the first six innings
    • She struck out five to move into sixth in the program's single-season history with 116 on the year
  • Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) went 1-for-2 with a two-RBI triple and walk in game one, while Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) finished 2-for-3 with the lone run in the nightcap

How it Happened
Second Game
  • Hobel's leadoff single, Jaden Kelly's (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) ensuing sacrifice and a one-out RBI single by Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River) was all HFU would need
  • Felician threatened with two walks in the seventh, but Hall was able to get the final two outs to secure the victory
First Game
  • Holy Family erased a two-run Golden Falcons first with a three-run second that featured the first four Tigers reaching
    • Hoban led off with a single and after Lindsey Gorka's (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) hit-by-pitch, Miller tied the game with her two-run triple
    • Following a Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) base on balls, Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) put HFU ahead with an RBI groundout
  • Holy Family still led still led 3-2 entering the third, when it loaded the bases on a Kelly single, another Gorka hit-by-pitch and Miller walk, but the Tigers could not take advantage
