BENSALEM, Pa. – The Holy Family University softball team dropped a doubleheader to Dominican, 1-5 and 1-9, to Dominican on Tuesday at Bensalem High School.
Individual Highlights
- Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) homered in both games and now has five in her last five games to move into a tie for sixth in the program's single-season history with eight on the year
- Game one starter Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River (Mount Olive)) produced a quality start, tying a season-high with 13 strikeouts as she surrendered three earned on five hits
- She is now seventh in the program's single-season history with 111 strikeouts
- Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) stole a base to move into a tie for fourth in the program's-single season history (9) and a tie for fifth all-time (18)
- Jaden Kelly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) and Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) both went 2-for-3 in the nightcap
How it Happened
First Game
- A two-run homer in the top of the second turned out to be the game-winner, despite HFU advancing runners in to scoring position in four of its at-bats
- The Tigers had the tying run on second in the third following a Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) walk and Hobel single and stolen base, but Dominican escaped and eventually doubled its lead in the fifth
Second Game
- Trailing 0-1 in the third, three straight singles by Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River), Hobel and Kelly loaded the bases, but HFU could not push a run across
- The Chargers would carry that momentum into the fourth, where they took control with a five-run top-half
