BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Holy Family University softball team scored four runs in its final two at-bats, and
Makenna Patterson (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) threw a shutout in the Tigers' 4-0 game two win at Bloomfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears had come back for a 2-5 victory in the opener.
Individual Highlights
- Patterson allowed just four hits over her seven innings, with three strikeouts against no base on balls, as she retired 13 of the final 14 she faced
- She is now tied for 10th in program history with 12 career wins
- Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) broke a 0-0 deadlock with a two-out solo home run in the sixth as part of a 2-for-4 nightcap
- The junior is now tied for seventh in program history with 16 career homers
- Jaden Kelly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) had two hits in game one

- Holy Family had runners reach scoring position in both the first and second, while Patterson faced the minimum
- She left two in scoring position in the third, and neither team threatened prior to Ciasullo's homer
- The Tigers added unneeded insurance in the seventh with five hits, beginning three straight by Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River) (single), Kylee Jones (Hulmeville, Pa./Neshaminy (Rider)) (single) and Gabrielle Wiley (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) (RBI double)
- Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) drove in another with a sacrifice fly and after an Erin Stilton (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Liberty) walk, back-to-back singles by Kelly and Alexis Letizia (Toms River, N.J./Donovan Catholic) made it 4-0
First Game
- Holy Family opened the scoring when three straight reached with two outs in the second, with Carlie Miller's (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) double following a Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) walk and error
- Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River (Mount Olive)) allowed just one hit over the first three innings, before Bloomfield came through with a four-run fourth that featured three base-knocks and two base on balls
- The Tigers got two on to no avail in the fifth, and the Bears added another in the bottom-half
