AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Holy Family University baseball team bounced back from a 13-18 loss to Thomas More to defeat Davis & Elkins 17-7 in the second game of its first day in Florida.

HFU erased two deficits, including 0-3 after the first, by scoring in each of its final six at-bats. The Tigers plated four in both the second and third and would not trail after.
Nick Lombardo (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin (Bucks County CC)) had all four of his RBI in those two innings as he went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.
Emidio Bucci (Gambrills, Md./Loyola Blakefield (York College)) finished a perfect 2-for-2 with two base on balls and three runs.
Dylan Mercedes (Washington Heights, N.Y./St. Raymonds (Mansfield University)) went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and three runs, while
Stefan Leo (Golden, Colo./Golden Senior (Porterville CC)) finished 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs and two RBI.
Jon Martinez (Camden, N.J./Timber Creek Regional (Camden CC)) was the fifth Tiger with two hits, both doubles, as he drove in two, while
Brian Comer (Charlotte, N.C./Independence (Bucks County CC)) and
Devon de Vera (Goodyear, Ariz./Broomfield (Chandler-Gilbert CC)) both had two had two walks, two runs and a hit.
Will Cheatham (Brooklyn, N.Y./IMG Academy (Glendale CC)) also scored twice.
Christian Culver (Croydon, Pa./Harry S. Truman (Bucks County CC)) picked up his first career save, tossing three innings of one-run relief in which he allowed just one hit.
Jelle Bing (Heerhugowaard, Netherlands/CSG Jan Arentsz (McCrook CC)) threw the first four frames to improv to 2-0.

Holy Family erased an eight-run deficit with an 11-run fourth. After Thomas More tied it in the fifth, the Tigers again took the lead on a
Darnell Guerrero (Bronx, N.Y./Bay Shore (Alliance University)) double in the sixth, but the Saints would respond with a four-run bottom-half.
Martinez went a perfect 2-for-2 with a double, two base on balls and four runs scored.
Mercedes also had the first of two two-hit performances on the day as he scored twice and drove in another.
Zach Morales (Barrington, N.J./Triton Regional (PSU-Abington)) scored twice in as well, after doubling and walking three times, while Cheatham hit his first home run at HFU to match Morales with a game-high three RBI.
Guerrero was the third Tiger with multiple RBI.
