Women’s Lacrosse Battles with Georgian Court Early

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The HFU women's lacrosse team hung tough with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) power Georgian Court in the first half, but the Lions would pull away for an 8-20 win on Tuesday.

The two teams traded goals until GCU tallied three in a row to end the first and begin the second, with the third putting the Lions ahead 3-6 1:17 into the second quarter.

Holy Family got as close as 5-6 with back-to-back scores by Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower Catholic) but the Tigers could never tie it, despite another Kilkenny goal cutting the deficit to 6-8 with 3:56 left in the first half.

The Lions would answer with a tally just 18 seconds before the break, before going on to score the first six goals of the third period.
