PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University baseball team scored a combined 14 runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, highlighted by seven-run sixth, to break a 2-2 tie in a 16-4 victory over Lincoln at Father Judge High School on Tuesday.
Individual Highlights
- Brian Comer (Charlotte, N.C./Independence (Bucks County CC)) finished a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, two RBI and two stolen bases
- Nick Lombardo (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin (Bucks County CC)) went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs
- Isaac Criss (Grove City, Pa./Grove City (Bucks County CC)) reached base four times with three walks, a hit, two runs and two stolen bases
- Jelle Bing (Heerhugowaard, Netherlands/CSG Jan Arentsz (McCrook CC)) improved to 2-0 with a quality start of six innings and one earned run
- Ian Malone (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne (Desales University)) came on for a hitless two innings of relief
- Zach Morales (Barrington, N.J./Triton Regional (PSU-Abington)) finished with a game-high three RBI, with Devon de Vera (Goodyear, Ariz./Broomfield (Chandler-Gilbert CC)), Dylan Mercedes (Washington Heights, N.Y./St. Raymonds (Mansfield University)) and Dalton Turner (Langorne, Pa./Neshaminy (Bucks County CC)) also driving in multiple runs
How it Happened
- Holy Family sent 12 to the plate in the sixth, with the first five reaching
- Morales led off the frame with a base on balls, before later capping it with a two-RBI double
- Three straight singles by Emidio Bucci (Gambrills, Md./Loyola Blakefield (York College)), Lombardo and Comer followed Morales' walk, breaking the deadlock
- Criss then drew a bases loaded bases and after the first out, Mercedes doubled home two
- A Turner RBI made it 7-2 and following a Stefan Leo (Golden, Colo./Golden Senior (Porterville CC)) walk, Morales put an exclamation point on the inning
