HFU's Kara Meredith (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) has been named both the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week after her 33-point performance in last Wednesday's win over Goldey-Beacom. 
 
The freshman outscored the Lightning herself, making 13-of-19 field goals and 7-of-11 3-pointers in the 80-32 victory. 
 
Meredith got off to a fast start, scoring 13 of the Tigers' first 14 points and 16 of their first quarter points. After combining for eight points in the second and third, she closed strong with nine more in the fourth to more than double her previous career-high of 14.
