CALDWELL, N.J. – The Holy Family University women's won the first and fourth quarters, but Caldwell outscored the Tigers 20-37 in the second and third en route to a 67-75 win on Saturday afternoon.
HFU cut what was once a 20-point fourth quarter deficit to eight, 59-67, with 2:48 to play, but the Tigers could not make it a two-possession game until the final second.
Individual Highlights
- Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) and Carly Bolivar (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka (Alliance)) led all players with five assists apiece, with Bolivar adding a team-high three steals
- Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) also had three steals, to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds
- Her 87 offensive rebounds this season now rank ninth in program history
- Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) led HFU with 16 points, one shy of a career-high, as she made 5-of-10 3-pointers
- The junior now ranks eighth in program history with 126 career triples
- Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) and Kara Meredith (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) were also in double-figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively
- Meredith led all players with a season-best three blocks

How it Happened
- The first period was played within four points with four ties and six lead changes, the final of which came when a Jenn Kokolus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) free throw put HFU on top 20-19 after 10 minutes of play
- Caldwell opened the second quarter scoring to begin a 2-8 surge and led from that point on, building a first-half-high eight-point cushion, 25-33, with six straight points after a Meredith 3-pointer
- Prevost closed the half with a layup for a 27-33 halftime score
- The Tigers cut the deficit to four twice early in the third, including at 32-36 on a Morrow layup 2:02 in, but the Cougars responded with 10 unanswered
- A Riepe 3-pointer momentarily made it a single-digit advantage, 40-48, with 2:42 showing on the third quarter clock, but Caldwell closed the period with final eight points to establish a double-digit lead that lasted until 2:48 mark of the fourth quarter
