PHILADELPHIA – Down 56-57 midway through the fourth quarter, the HFU women's basketball team used an 11-0 run over 3:19 to hand No. 5 Seton Hill its first loss of the season, 73-67, on Sunday afternoon inside of the Campus Center.
The Tigers have also beaten No. 12 Assumption and No. 13 Jefferson in the last month.
Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) put HFU ahead for good, 58-57, with 5:02 remaining and after an
Amy Ngo (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) jumper, a
Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)) 3-pointer put the Tigers up 63-57 with 3:55 to go.
Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) then made a layup, before two Carter free throw completed the stretch with just 1:43 left.
Holy Family made 6-of-6 foul shots over the final 59 seconds to seal the victory.
Individual Highlights
- Hinkle led all players with 14 rebounds and added 21 points on 7-of-11 field goals for her fourth consecutive double-double
- Searfoss was also in double-figures with 12 points, including making all six of her free throw attempts
- Ngo and Lola Ibarrondo (Bristol, Pa./Neshaminy) contributed a season-high nine points apiece
- Carter topped the Tigers with four assists, while chipping in with seven points

How it Happened
- SHU held its two largest leads of seven in the first quarter, including at 7-14 entering the final three and a half minutes, but back-to-back 3-pointers by Hinkle and Ibarrondo sparked a 10-3 end the period as Dougherty beat the buzzer to tie things up at 17
- After exchanging points to begin the second, HFU limited the Griffins to just two free throws over 5:52, with Hinkle netting nine points in a 13-2 surge that ended with her layup establishing a 32-23 cushion with1:18 left in the half
- Seton Hill tallied the final three points for a 32-26 scoreline entering the locker room
- Ibarrondo and Carter opened the third quarter scoring to match the game's largest lead, 36-26, and the Tigers were still ahead 34-42 before seven unanswered sparked a 2-11 flurry that put the Griffins on top 44-45 with 2:45 remaining in the third
- Ngo made a 3-pointer for a 51-49 advantage entering the fourth, and there were three ties and three lead changes until HFU made its run
