PHILADELPHIA – Trailing by 16 late in the first half and by 13 entering the final five minutes, the HFU men's basketball team made multiple pushes to within five, but the Tigers could never make it a single possession game in an eventual 64-70 loss to Queens on Saturday afternoon inside of the Campus Center.
Karrington Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) sparked the first run, beginning and ending six unanswered as his dunk made it 37-42 with 13:07 remaining.
The Knights rebuilt a 43-56 lead, but this time it was
Ryan Holmes (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter School) sparking a 9-1 surge with four points, as his two free throws cut the deficit to 52-57 with just 5:32 left
His layup made it 54-59 just 38 seconds later as well, but HFU could never get closer despite an
Omarion Jett (Montclair, N.J./Saint Benedict's Prep) basket also making it a two-possession scoreline, 56-62, with 3:26 showing.
Queen responded to that with eight in a row to pull away for good.

- Seven straight points, five of which came from Coursey, gave HFU its largest lead, 11-6, 5:02 into the action
- Queens came back with six unanswered and after three lead changes and a tie at 15, the Knights went up for good on a 3-pointer with 9:33 on the first half clock
- That was part of six straight that capped a 4-15 surge for a 15-21 scoreline with 7:19 left
- The deficit was still within two possessions when a Ketner hook shot made it 23-28 with 4:02 showing, but QC pulled away with 11 in a row over just 2:32
- Two Coursey free throws in the final minute cut the cushion to 25-39 entering the locker room
