PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University men's basketball team completed a busy week on Saturday, falling to Southern Connecticut State, 58-65, inside of the Campus Center on Saturday afternoon.
Individual Highlights
- Omarion Jett (Montclair, N.J./Saint Benedict's Prep) fell one rebound shy of his first career double-double as he topped the Tigers with 13 points
- Karrington Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) had a team-high of a season-best 10 boards
- Najee Coursey (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Cedar Creek) and Tairi Ketner (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) were also in double-figures with 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting
- Vernon Johnson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) (four assists) and Josiah King (Irvington, N.J./Linden) (three steals) both tied game-highs

- Holy Family shot a better percentage (39.3-33.3) and dominated the paint (34-12), but the Owls made 10 more 3-pointers, 4-14, and held a 6-17 edge in points off turnovers
How it Happened
- Southern Connecticut State built the first three-possession lead, 18-26, on a 3-pointer with 4:40 left in the first, before another triple built a first-half-high 20-29 advantage entering the final two minutes
- Holy Family countered with back-to-back baskets, but yet another Owls trifecta made it 24-32 entering the locker room
- The Tigers got as close as 26-32 when Ketner opened the second half scoring, but back-to-back SCSU 3-pointers produced the game's first double-digit cushion and extended the lead to three possessions for good
