Volleyball Edged on Road at Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Holy Family University volleyball team lost three close sets in a 1-3 setback (24-26, 25-16, 22-25, 22-25) at Felician on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Morgan Steck (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood) led all players with 40 assists and added 11 digs for her second straight double-double
    • She was also second on the Tigres with three blocks, matching Leah Logan (Bloomfield, N.J./Abundant Life Academy)
  • Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) posted a match-high 16 kills on .279 hitting
  • Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle (Saint Anselm)) led all players with six blocks, tying a season-best, and added eight kills on .400 hitting
  • Cadence Palmer (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) fell one dig shy of a match-high with a season-best 24, while Jayden Bralts (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter) set a career-high with 18 
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Holy Family had more than double the amount of blocks, 9-4, but Felician controlled the service game with a 14-4 edge in aces
 
How it Happened
  • With HFU up 21-17 in the first, Felician ended the set on a 3-9 run that included staving off a set point
  • After the Tigers tallied 10 of the final 14 point in the second, neither team led by more than two points in the third until the Golden Falcons went ahead 21-24 as part of a set-ending 2-5 surge
  • Holy Family used a 4-1 run to tie the fourth set at 22-22 on a Bralts kill, only for Felician to record the final three points
