WILMINGTON –
Sergio Revuelta's (Valladolid, Spain/IES Alejandria) brace helped the HFU men's soccer team earn its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win of the season, 3-1, at Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday afternoon.
The senior found the net on either side of halftime, first in the 43rd minute and then then in 84th to seal it, after the Lightning had cut the deficit to 1-2 in the 66th.
He now leads the team with three goals on the year.
Luke Shank (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) made six saves in the victory to move into ninth in program history with 154 for his career.
Deshawn Bernard (Portmore, Jamaica/Wolmer's Boys School) converted his second penalty of the season to open the scoring just under 25 minutes into the action.
Mohamed Bility (/) was then denied on a breakaway three minutes ahead of the break, but the rebound fell to Reveulta who shot into an open net to make it 2-0 and gave Bility his first career point for the Tigers.
Lucca Saad (São Paulo, Brazil/The Phelps School) also registered his first assist for HFU, as it was his ball in behind that set up Reveulta for the third.
Ned Lewis (London, England/Hayesbrook) had the only attempt on net in the opening 24 minutes, while Shank made his first save just under 30 seconds prior to Bernard's penalty.
He also made back-to-back stops in the 33rd minute to keep it 1-0, as well as another to keep it 2-1 in the 76th.
Joshua Moreland (Blackwood, N.J./Sterling) was denied from making it 3-1 just over two minutes later.
